Our story

Once upon a Sunday, three friends - each of us deep in the hustle of the hospitality world - started a tradition. Every week, we’d meet up, cook a big breakfast, and reminisce about the wild and weird stories from our time in the kitchen and front of the house. What started as a way to relax turned into something bigger: a dream to open our own restaurant, Grasso!

Now, why Grasso? Well, to be honest it's because two of us - full on Italians with thick accent and barely any English (after years one of us is probably still at the "barely any English" phase) were making fun of the host because of his Grasso pronunciation.

We pictured everything and we had a twist in mind. Thanks to our obsession with playing Buena Vista Social Club on repeat, we envisioned a Cuban vibe mixed with Italian-inspired cuisine. That’s how Grasso was born in our minds: the perfect spot to enjoy rich Italian flavors, all with a side of good Cuban beats. Because it doesn't really need to make sense, really what does in life?!

Before long, our Sunday breakfasts turned into a club: the Mangiabreakfastclub (yes, it's spelled all together). We started inviting people over, turning our gatherings into a mini party (sometimes many people and sometimes the three of us) full of food, laughter, and endless “what ifs” about this dream restaurant.

Since we can’t feed you (yet), we’re bringing you something just as delicious and innovative: our own collection of reci-tees! Yep, we decided to share our love for food in a whole new way. Each design is a tribute to an Italian classic recipe - our unit of measure are "a little bit of these" and "a little bit of that", same as Nonna would say.

And who knows, if enough of you join our little Mangiabreakfastclub and rock these tees, maybe one day we’ll be serving you while Buena Vista Social Club plays in the background!

So grab a shirt, join the club, and help us cook up something great - because one day you might be sitting at Grasso, enjoying a dish that’s been on your shirt all along!
